The Politikon Review is an opinion page dedicated to the pursuit of free speech and transparency of government. We are the only inter-campus, political media organization run and managed by students. We hope to promote discourse in the relevant political issues of our time. The myriad of topics that are addressed reflect the diverse interests and views of our writers.

A message from our Founder
Thank you for visiting our site. Discussion is one of the most powerful tools we have to tackle our own problems, and it is unfortunately one of the most violated. I started this blog because I am a firm believer that whenever discussion provides a path to resolution, there is an obligation to pursue it. We live in a developing world where insulated governments that can’t answer for their practices resort to censoring and incarcerating their people that speak out unfavorably against them. In lieu of transparency and compromise, free speech is further repressed. The world has too often stood idly by as these injustices commonly plague what ignorant citizens consider to be the “silly” people of the Third World learning to settle their own differences. It’s evident that U.S. citizens have taken the Bill Of Rights for granted. I see no reason for anyone to presume that our freedoms will remain if we continually fail to stand for the freedoms of others abroad. Abraham Lincoln once said, “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.” It couldn’t have been said any better.
Our mission is simple: We are a student run organization trying to help others stay informed with the issues of our time. But to do this, we need loyal readers like you. The topics covered will emphasize the theme of reevaluating and protecting our own First Amendment rights from the forces that seek to repress them. They will include people, policy, the economy, business, legal issues, international developments, etc. As we continue to acquire new writers with unique views, our content will continue to expand to reflect the depth and breadth of issues facing society. I only ask that all participants be respectful and courteous to the opinions of others. In doing so, I hope to create an open and recognized forum that is a hotbed of cogent argument and opinion.
I encourage comments from our readers, and interaction with our writers, but I also ask that all dialogue refrain from any language that is vulgar, malicious, or hateful in nature. Additionally, please note that the opinions expressed by our writers are theirs alone and do not reflect the opinions of our organization as a whole.
Until then, stay with us as we continuously develop this site for both our readers and our writers. I hope you enjoy your time here.
